WELCOME to our TEAM APP! This purpose of this site is for choir participants to register for rehearsals for STREET REQUIEM ON THE RIDGE, Mornington Peninsula, which will be held on Saturday October 21, 2023.
ABOUT THE CHOIRS: Multiple choirs will be involved. On this site, you can find details about rehearsals for MELBOURNE JUSTICE CHOIR and FLINDERS SINGERS. Regardless of which choir you choose, you are welcome to attend any of the rehearsals listed for either choir.
AUDITIONS: No auditions are required. If you love singing, join us! Rehearsal tools will be provided to help you, even if you don't read music or if you're new to formal "choir" singing. The music and the way it will be rehearsed is designed to be inclusive of participants with various levels of training and experience.
COMMITMENT: You are expected to attend most of the rehearsals for your "chosen" choir and to be "performance ready" by October 21st. If you have concerns/questions about this, you can discuss further with leadership.
REHEARSAL LOCATIONS: Melbourne Justice Choir will rehearse mostly in Brunswick West. Flinders Singers will rehearse mostly on the Peninsula (in Balnarring or Flinders). COMBINED rehearsals will take place on the Peninsula. Each rehearsal "event" listed here provides addresses and other details.
MUSIC (PRINT): Details about music acquisition will be available soon. You will be invited to pay a modest fee for the music (if you already have the music, you do not need to purchase the music again). Royalties from music sales will benefit UpBeat Art, which "delivers tailored arts and cultural programs, for artists and educators to work with marginalised communities, promoting social inclusion, positive mental health and overall wellbeing". https://www.upbeatarts.org.au/
WHY REGISTER? If you "register" here, you will receive updates to your email and also rehearsal reminders the day before. You can also find here on the site any announcements that have been sent out. We will be using the app to communicate with you, take attendance, and to help protect you in case of emergency.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN? Other than music purchasing, as mentioned above, no payments are expected. (Note that limited chairs are available for the Brunswick West rehearsals, so you are asked to bring a chair).
